CCTV has come a long way in recent years and thankfully those familiar grainy, black and white, VHS tape systems are a thing of the past. Digital Video Recorders have been with us for several years, but the emergence of mega pixel camera technology has made the benefits of an IP-based system even more attractive.

IP stands for Internet Protocol and is simply a way of connecting cameras to your existing computer network. Instead of recording to a proprietary video recorder, which can become obsolete, recordings are made to a standard PC, thus protecting your investment. Only genuine IP-based software such as Redhand can properly record the images from high-definition cameras, unlike the standard, lower resolution provided by most conventional video recorders. Network Managers need have no concerns as the system is designed to provide maximum image quality while having low bandwidth requirements. IP-based cameras can be viewed remotely via the Internet and can also be connected over wireless and fibre optic cable.

Affordable, high quality security

Camera manufacturers often provide free recording software but Redhand removes your dependence on a single manufacturer, allowing you to use the best camera for a particular location. This could be a discrete dome in a corridor, a low light camera for outdoor use, or mega pixel device in a car park or driveway.

Your existing cameras may be of good quality and Redhand can support legacy systems, offering you an easy and painless upgrade path. There is no limit to the number of cameras that can be deployed and you can add single cameras incrementally, as and when budgets permit. An intelligent Viewer module makes it easy to locate and manage any recorded images that the operator needs. Images can be copied to the clipboard and then emailed, written to a CD or just printed. If required, the recorded video from various cameras can be chronologically locked together, so that an entire incident can then be viewed exactly as it happened.
