Redhand is a leading provider of IP Software for Networked CCTV.

The system supports a wide range IP and older style analogue cameras, including the latest mega pixel devices, that can be wired or wireless.  The cameras capture and record high quality images and variable stream frame rates are offered, up to the maximum that the camera can deliver. The internal system management is automatic and video can be kept indefinitely up to the maximum capacity of the disk. All the cameras have inbuilt motion detection, so if there is no activity then nothing is recorded.  However, live pictures can be viewed at any time. Redhand also includes an intelligent   Viewer module that makes it easy to locate and manage the recorded pictures that the operator needs. If required, all the images from various cameras can be locked together chronologically.  An incident can then be viewed exactly as it happened, on any networked PC.  The automatic transmission of live pictures via the Internet can also provide real evidence that a break-in or any other breach of security is taking place. In the event of an intrusion, the system provides SMS and email alerts and this can be extended to include camera and system health checks.

There is no limit to the number of cameras and the pictures are automatically deleted after the user-defined, retention period.  In the event of an incident, the pictorial evidence can be written to CD.

3) The Manager

The Manager module resides on a fileserver or PC and when a camera is triggered, images are copied to the receiving system from the camera.  The Manager is designed to work largely unattended and carries out self-checking routines on the status of connected cameras and on the delivery of new pictures.  It will manage the files in a central database and will remove old ones automatically.  The number of days for which you wish to keep pictures can be set up on a per-camera basis and can be altered at a later date (e.g. if school or company holidays are to be considered).  The Manager module is where we define the camera parameters: their location, IP addresses, the model of camera and the number of day’s picture retention.  If required we can enable SMS to alert the appropriate people that there has been an incident, via their mobile phones.  We can also set up Remote Monitoring and Audio devices.  This feature will enable you to challenge intruders through the Viewer module, via locally installed, network driven speakers.

4) The Viewer

The Viewer module can be installed on the same PC as the Manager, or on any number of PCs connected on the same LAN.  Conventional, modern PC’s are perfectly adequate but obviously the better the PC, the better the performance.  A 100Mbs interface is acceptable, but a 1Gbps interface will provide a better performance.  The task of the Viewer is to retrieve pictures from the host PC, and so the faster the interface, the better the performance.
